Just wanted to let you know about a couple of new newsgroups that might
interest you if you're following issues of dictatorship, autocracy,
totalitarianism, and bad governance worldwide. Subject matter
includes: fraudulent elections, insider sweet deals, military
manipulation, foreign conquest, royal family shenanigans, civil war and
insurgency, and a whole lot more.

dictator.africa Autocracy, tyranny, bad governance in Africa
dictator.america Autocracy, tyranny, bad governance in America
dictator.announce Announcements for the dictator.* hierarchy
dictator.asia Autocracy, tyranny, bad governance in Asia
dictator.chitchat Topics only marginally related to bad governance
dictator.europe Autocracy, tyranny, bad governance in Europe
dictator.general The art of autocracy, tyranny, and dictatorship
dictator.mideast Autocracy, tyranny, bad governance in MiddleEast

They're non-commercial. Check out the website at [1] to learn more
about the Dictator's Handbook. The Newsgroup Charter is here [2]. The
newsgroups are somewhat aggressively managed to keep it free of spam
and junk and keep the conversation on topic.

Ever notice that the autocrats of the world are dangerously predictable?

Ever wonder if the world looks the way it does on purpose, because the
world's leaders have got it just the way they like it?

Ever wonder if dictators are all following the same playbook, a set of
rules that have proved useful through history?

Or are you just interested in the machinery that makes a tyrant tick?

This is where we discuss it.

There remain a couple of servers not carrying it, and I've contacted
those managers on several occasions without success. To date, neither
eternal-september, aioe, or individual.net are carrying the groups
(yet). But I'm trying. If you don't mind, please post to
aioe.news.techsupport or whatever and contribute to the thread I
started requesting they carry the groups.

In the meantime, check out http://forum.dictatorshandbook.net to see
what those groups are carrying, and you can always connect directly the
server if you like: just point your newsreader to dictatorshandbook.net
(no user name or password, but all spam and off-topic posts are
aggressively cancelled).
